Addy is One!

I can't believe that tomorrow Addy will be 1 already! When Spencer turned 1, I was 5 months pregnant with Addy! Time sure does fly! She is such a joy to have in our family. She is almost always smiling or laughing. We constantly get comments on how happy and content she is. When she was a baby and so colicky there were days when I just didn't think I was going to be able to do it. We made it though and I couldn't imagine our life without her. Spencer is always asking for her when he can't see her and every morning when he wakes up, he climbs into her crib and plays with her. I know that as they grow up they will fight more, but I hope they can always be the best of pals. It is my greatest wish to have a relationship with her like the one I have with my own mom. Happy Birthday sweetie pie!

We celebrated her birthday today since Clif gets home so late and has a doctor appointment tomorrow. She is teething really bad and had a fever and was pretty lethargic (poor girl). However, when we gave her the cupcake she chirped right up! She got a box full of Little People Legos and a Lego plane from my mom. We got her a doll set and a Little People car. Needless to say Spencer thought it was all for himself!

Here are some pictures of the big day!

Addy held the doll as soon as we gave it to her. So cute!

Here is a fun comparison of my two little ones on their first birthdays!

I made this!

On April 21st we had a sewing class. I made Addy an apron for when she is older. I really am still not sure what I exactly did, but I am just proud that I did it. For Mother's Day my mom bought me an electronic sewing machine so now I can start taking classes! I am so excited to actually be able to sew! I am excited to be able to do a lot of things that I haven't had time for or never used to be interested in!

Going Back in Time...

On April 22nd I put Addy in an outfit that my mom made me as a kid. I of course don't remember wearing it, but it was really fun to have her wear it! It was also exciting for me to think that now that I have made an apron, I might be able to make a dress too!

Addy is crawling!

After worrying about her not crawling she finally did it! I have been working with her every day for the past few months and was beginning to give up. On Sunday I decided to try again and spent about 20 minutes trying to get her to come to me, but she was haven't any of it. Then later that day she just decided it was time. Even though I know she is later than most babies, including Spencer, I am way excited for her! I think it is especially neat that her cousin, that is 2 days younger than her, crawled 2 days before her. They must have decided in heaven to do it together and only when they both were ready!

More from my visit to Washington

On Tuesday we went to the Alderwood Mall. They have a huge inside play area for kids to play on so we took Spencer. He had a lot of fun and even made a little friend that he followed around everywhere. What a great place to meet other moms.

I so wish our malls in Utah had one of these. Not only is it a great place to take your kids it it is raining, but if you can shop while your husband watches the kids play. When we go to Salt Lake as a family we also try to go to Costco and run all our errands for the month. I always feel so bad dragging the kids, but we usually are on our way to Logan or meeting someone so we both need to go. It would just be so nice to have something like this.

We also went to visit the Easter Bunny. Addy was the only one brave enough to sit on his lap. I thought for sure Spencer would if Addy did, but he wasn't having anything to do with it!

My mom then bought the kids stuffed animals from Build-A-Bear. Addy got a lamb (which Spencer had originally picked out for himself) and Spencer got....a teddy bear....no surprise there! My mom really spoils her grand kids and I really appreciate all she does!

Every night Spencer and my dad had their routine. Spencer would sit on his lap and they would share ice cream together. It was really quite special, it reminded me a lot of me and my grandpa. It will be fun to see if he asks for ice cream when we go back in July.

Visiting with an old friend

When I was in Washington I was able to see some of my friends that I haven't seen in a long time. I hadn't seen one of my friends, Amy, since I was married (which we all know how weddings are, crazy as ever! I later regretted that we didn't get a picture of just me and her. I would have loved to have that with all the rest). Amy and I have known each other since 7th grade. I can still remember going to her ballet performances and wishing I could dance like her! We also both were in choir and cheer together and went on many trips together because of them. Growing up I considered her one of my very best friends and I am so glad we have stayed on contact.

We were able to meet up for lunch and then go over to her mom's house and spend some time catching up. Our kids are very close in age and they were able to play and get to know each other. Spencer was way grumpy and not in the best mood. I think it would have been more fun for PJ if he had been in his normal playful mood. He just was really tired so much so that he fell asleep on their couch. When we had to leave PJ kept hugging Spencer and it was just really cute! I really wished I lived closer so that we could get together more often!

We of course forget to get pictures together, but here are some for old times sake!

Us after a Homecoming Assembly.
Us at cheer camp. I am sure everyone wanted to see this!
