Addy's new hair do

Today for church I wanted to try something new with Addy's hair. Her hair is still so thin, but I thought I would see if I could do pigtails. They are pretty tiny, but I thought she looked adorable!

Easter

The kids and I flew home on the Saturday before Easter. We didn't get home until about midnight. Our plane was delayed and I think it is safe to say we were all exhausted. I really wanted to sleep in, but was too excited to help the Easter Bunny visit the kids. While Clif was with the kids I set-up their baskets. Spencer ended up playing with Addy's toys more than his own. He really just thinks they are all for him! I got the bunny and the lamb last year when all the Easter stuff was on sale. I had totally forgotten about them! They sing, "Jesus loves me yes I know, for the Bible tells me so. Yes, Jesus loves me. The Bible tells me so." Spencer plays it so much that I think that song is permanently written in my head!

Addy usually doesn't care for stuffed animals, but really liked playing with them. Spencer loves all stuffed animals and we already have way too many!

Here he is playing with Addy's new toy.

Having fun with their new toys!

During Sacrament I thought it might be fun if we went out to Logan to see Clif's parents. We hadn't planned on going up there, but I really wanted to spend Easter with family, so off we went! We got there just in time to take some cute pictures of them in their matching outfits and then eat dinner. After dinner we went on an Easter egg hunt. Spencer had so much fun! It was both his and my first Easter hunt! I had just as much fun hiding it as he did finding them! We didn't get to stay long, but we really appreciated the yummy dinner and putting together a hunt for Spencer on such short notice!

Addy and Grandma Lila all bundled up during the Egg Hunt.

Addy after the Egg Hunt. Yummy Chocolate!

Here are some videos of Spencer having a blast hunting for eggs! I know there a lot, so if you want to watch only 1, the first one is the best!

Hard Times

*I just wanted to say that I know that what I am going through is nothing more than what anyone goes through. I just use this as my journal and needed to vent! The funny thing is after I wrote this Spencer woke up throwing up and I had a bad migraine for the whole next day! We just keep on going and through faith we all get through it!*

The past month there seems to be one thing after another. I know everyone goes through these times of trials, way more than we ever have, but that doesn't always make it any easier.
I ended up having 3 ear infections last month which included 6 doctor visits altogether. It all started when I got strep. At the time he said my ears were fine, but a week later when I was still feeling awful, if not worse I decided to go to the doctor again. They then decided my medicine wasn't working (I had a strand that was defective or something) and that I had an outer ear infection. I got new medicine and then went into the doctor a few weeks later when I was still feeling sick. They referred me to the ENT (since they couldn't see anything but fog in my ear) who found that I now had an inner ear infection as well. I was still not hearing 2 weeks later so I went into the ENT again just to find out I needed to give the hole in my ear time to heal. Oh, but my ear didn't want to do that, because 2 days later I went into to find out I had yet another ear infection. So basically during this time our house got messier and messier and I got sleepier and sleepier. I also gained almost 15lbs for who knows what reason. I am guessing the stress of all of it on my body! I have lost 4 of those pounds this week from working out and drinking lots of water, but it is still depressing! Then in the midst of this I got a positive pregnancy test. 2 days later I started my period so we are guessing it was either a faulty test or early miscarriage. It was positive though. I also went into the doctor on Monday because of major headaches and he gave me some medicine that isn't doing anything. I call in to find out why and the nurse says it sounds like my headaches are migraines and not tension headaches and I should come in again. I should come in again and pay more money? I had told him I thought it was migraines, I thought the medicine he gave me covered that! I am not going in again, grr!

My mom has also been dealing with a lot more than I have. Not only does she have her cancer treatments each month, but she is in so much pain from the infection in her tooth. I can't imagine what she is going through. I can only say that this past month being sick or having a sick child has been so hard and I don't know how she does. I do know she is really struggling and I feel so helpless to do anything. I really wanted to be of help when I went to visit her, but my kids take up all of my time and energy and she ended up being more of a help than I ever was, It is just hard to see my best friend suffer. I wish they could figure out how to take the infection from her. I guess if I am wishing for that I might as well wish for a cure for cancer too.

Then Addy has been crying ever since we got home from Washington. We finally took her into the doctor today and found out she too has an ear infection. We kept thinking it was teething. I had taken Spencer in while I was in Washington because he had a fever and was pulling at his ear and it was nothing. We have so much doctor bills that I didn't want to take her just to hear that. I feel bad that she has been suffering. It is just so hard to tell when they are that young. Spencer also is on a strike of food. In the last two weeks he probably has eaten about 2 to 3 good meals altogether. I am not sure what is going on with him either. He has had a running nose as well so who knows!

Then there is the decision to sell the home or not. We really want a garage and a backyard for the kids. We have been wanting to sell for awhile, but have just been so busy. The condo across from us sold in a month, but I guess there are a lot more since even 6 months ago when that condo sold. I know we have to trust that if this is what we are supposed to do then it will sell for the price we need. We need enough to pay off our last debt and still have some to put as a down payment. I guess if it doesn't sell than that it our answer.

Finally, I got a new student on Tuesday. This is our 4th new student this year. It now makes 14 boys and only 7 girls in our class. 10 out of the 14 boys have been difficult in one way or another. Of course I still love them all as they have taught me to be more patience, to have fun, and of course to not take everything so seriously. I only have 7 weeks left. I really want my last year to be awesome. On the first day my new student was a real challenge. Since my headaches are getting worse and worse I am finding it harder to be patience. I also have never seen a kid in first grade or any grade for that matter, be so defiant or outspoken on their first day. It really through me for a loop. With prayers and positive reinforcement we had a much better day on Wednesday. Then today it was worse than the first day. I have gone home crying both days. I just take everything he does so personally. It is hard for me to not be hard on myself when he is glaring at me like I am the meanest person on the planet. So to make a long story short I am struggling. I wish I knew what to do to make a difference. I finally have come to terms that I am just going to not have to worry about what he does as long as it isn't disrupting of affecting the other students.

Of course all of these things are very workable. I just needed to get them off of my chest. It is very soothing for me. We are so blessed to have a home. We are so blessed to have doctors so we can get better. We are so blessed to both have jobs and to to be able to provide for our family. We are so blessed to be able to have such loving friends and family.

Spring Break!

For Spring Break this year I went up to see my parents. It was my first time traveling with both kids alone. Needless to say I was a nervous wreck. The worst part was trying to put the stroller down, keep Spencer next to me, and still hold on to Addy and our carry on luggage! Spencer was great on the way up. He had his two favorite things: his bear, and his show (thanks BJ for letting me borrow your portable dvd player, it was a life saver). Addy slept for like the first 20 minutes and then something must have woken her up and she was pretty fussy and grumpy the rest of the way.

We had a great, fun, and busy week thanks to my mom. She had lots of ideas of things we could do to keep Spencer busy! We were able to do some pretty neat things that I wish we had available to us in Utah.

I sure would like to move back and live closer to my parents. I e-mailed the Washington JATC program that Clif is in to see if they were accepting transfers. The answer was they are, but we may want to be informed that 20% of their apprentices are laid off right now. So there goes that idea!

On Monday we went to the zoo. It was kind of a confusing zoo and we got lost a lot. We saw a lot of sleeping animals and walked for about 3 hours! Spencer loved the Zebras and of course the farm animals. They had a lot of monkeys and gorillas and so forth. My favorite animal was the jaguar!
