Fun at Papa & Grandma Lila's House

We have been to Logan a couple of times this summer and I haven't had time to blog about it so I thought I would put them all in one.

June:
We went to KFC to get our free Oprah chicken, but found out we had to get a rain check. While we were waiting for our food Spencer climbed onto the bench and hugged us all on his own. It made my day!

Can't forget Addy! Look at her face!

Then we went to the park at Willow Park Zoo. We ate our dinner there and Gavin and Spencer played on the playground. Then they all went to the zoo while Clif and I ran a few quick errands.

Loving hos cousin.

Looking at the animals with Grandma

Shian told Spencer to make Addy laugh and he stuck out his tongue.

Then she stuck it back out.

Here's Spencer trying on Grandma's visor.

Someone had a birthday party or something and they gave the kids balloons.

Looks like he is being nice, but I don't know since I wasn't there.

You can't find me here.

Later that night I went with Shian to try on dresses. We had a blast doing it, it was more fun than I had in a long while. I love being able to shop with another girl and without kids!

I look pregnant in this one!

July: We went to the duck pond, a favorite place, and the park. Spencer had slides, swings, and sticks and so he was in heaven! Of course Addy had a blast. She loves being outside and on the swings and will throw a fit/tantrum if you take her out of either of those things!

Walking to the duck pond...ignore my fat thighs.

Throwing bread for the ducks with Aunt Shian.

A little cautious at first,

Getting used to it.

And doesn't want to get out!

Love the church shoes with the pj's

She really hates going on the slide so I am surprised she is even anywhere near it.

I do love the swings though!

Loves the sticks!

Don't tip over!

August: We went up the Saturday I came home from Washington to see Robyn and Gordon. Before we left we went and floated zucchini boats down the canal. Clif and I were busy packing our thigns so we didn't have time to make any, but it was really fun to watch! Since Clif was taking the pictures we only got three. We will have to take more next time. It is probably a good thing though since this post is already way too long.

All the fancy boats. Guess which one won? The won without any flags- moms!

Tara showing off her boat.

Spencer and I. He is showing off his awful scratch from falling of the porch while throwing a stick! Ouch!

Celebrating Addy's Birthday

On June 14th we celebrated Addy's birthday in Logan. She loved her birthday dinner, especially the zucchini. I even tried it for her! I can't say that I loved it liked she did! We had doughnuts for dessert and then opened up presents. We were also about to go to the temple the day before with Clif's mom and that was very relaxing and much needed. Thanks mom for going with us and Shian for watching the kids!

Eating dessert with Grandma Lila.

My cute husband!

I am letting someone hold me besides my mom!

Fun new toys.

I will only wear this is Papa does!

Happy Birthday Addy!

Nap time at our house!

The first week that I was home full-time Spencer had a hard time taking naps for me. He wasn't used to sleeping at his own house and having his mom put him down to sleep. On Thursday, June 11th (one of the first days I really tried to put him down) I had come in many times to put him back in bed and he still kept getting out of bed. I finally gave up and decided he could just have quiet time in his room. I went in to go get him when I heard Clif coming through the door and this is what I found:

He has a book in his hand! Don't you love that he is in his pj's! I believe this was the day I had to give him an afternoon bath so we put his pj's on early!

I am happy to report that one of the following four things have helped nap time go much better:

1. Telling him he can't play with Abi unless he goes to sleep.
2. Telling him he will get a sticker if he takes a nap.
3. Telling him if he gets out of bed one more time I will spank him. I am not much of a spanker, but if you tell him you are going to he takes it seriously.
4. Making sure Addy is already asleep or they keep each other awake.

Here is an example of #4. This last Thursday, July 2nd, Addy was keeping Spencer awake and as soon as I took her out he fell asleep. I knew Addy was tired so I put her on my bed and had her lay down with a bottle. She wasn't having any of it, but I wasn't going to let her play since it was nap time. Half-an-hour later this is what you get:

I do have to say I really love my kids. They are both so well behaved and so sweet. I am very lucky to have be entrusted to take care of them!

Rodeo

On Friday we went to the rodeo to watch our friend's sons ride a sheep in the Muttin Bustin (however you spell that). We missed Isaac because we were late (are we ever on time??) and Daxton decided not to do it. I have never been to a rodeo and had lots of fun. I really enjoyed the bull and horse riding...I think that is what you call it. Anyhow, it was a fun night and I am glad we went besides being disappointed that we were late and missed the whole reaosn we came!

Addy watching the rodeo through the gate.

Spencer being his cute self! (I know I am bias)!

Abi wearing Addy's 12 month pants and 18 month shirt... I can't believe she fit in them! She went swimming with us earlier in the day and then ate and took a nap at our house. Spencer had a fun day with his best friend!

Addy having fun climbing in the stroller!

Bridal Veil Falls

Last Monday Nicole and I met up with our good friend Shana at Bridal Veil Falls. I had never been before. It was really pretty and it was a lot of fun to see Shana and her new baby Presley, who is just precious! Thanks for the fun time girls and thanks Nicole for driving us up there! We need to do it again real soon!

Shana and Nicole forgot their cameras and I had forgotten to put my memory card in so I only have 3 pictures.

Spencer and Abi helping each other into the cold water!

Shana's boys Brayden and Daxton, (they have gotten so tall since I have seen them last) and Isaac.

Addy sitting in Shana's stroller. I love her new earrings, but they kept getting caught on things so we had to take them out.

Thanksgiving Point

For our 2nd traveling play group we went to Thanksgiving Point's water park. It isn't quite a park, but more of a play area. Regardless, my kids had a lot of fun! After the park, Melinda (my friend - Kyleigh's mom) invited us over to her parent's home to eat dinner. It was a nice break before a long ride home. We had a great day and I am glad we were able to enjoy it with great friends! Thanks!

Impossible to get them to smile at the same time!

Spencer's friend Isaac laid down in the water so of course he had to do it too!

Cute Addy smiling at Melinda instead of me!
Kyleigh and Spencer chilling in the water.

Climbing in the stairs in the lighthouse.

Most of the kids from the play group.

Brigham, Kaiden, Isaac, and Max coming down from the trail. (I taught Brigham in school last year).

Climbing up the stairs...of course with no shoes on!

Spencer playing with his favorite thing... a stick!

Playing with wood... a boys best friend.
