Crawling

Haleigh started  army crawling at Grandma Lila and Papa's house on July 15th (the weekend we were there after Addy's surgery)...(unfortunately that folder of pictures somehow got deleted. It included the kids swim lessons and much more)!
She continued to crawl that way for an entire month and a half. She got where she could go so fast. A month later when Allyson started to crawl, she too, started with the army crawl. Then in the middle of September they both started crawling on their hands and knees like that is what they had been doing it that way the whole time. One of my favorite things about having twins is seeing that despite their differences, they are still so much alike!
These videos are from July 18th and August 20th.

Dentist

Spencer and Addy have been going to the dentist (Southridge Pediatric Dentistry) since he was 3 she was 18 months. They see Dr. Roth, who is so good with them...I wish the assistants were just as friendly as he is. They are nice, but some of them are not very patient with the kids and this is a kids dentist office!
I was so impressed with how well Spencer and Addy did on their first visit and have done since, especially little Addy. She was the first 2 year old that they were able to clean all of their teeth (yes I am a proud mother). The only problem Spencer has had is not opening up his mouth wide enough or closing his mouth when it should be open, which I think can be a hard thing myself. Spencer is also more cautious and nervous during the visit where as Addy is completely relaxed.
The past 3 times we had been both kids were cavity free and the only "issue" was Spencer grinding his teeth (one tooth looks chipped, but has actually been ground down). So imagine my surprise when I took them in for their routine visit and Addy had a cavity. Spencer is my juice, candy, sippy cup for too long kid! I brush and floss (Yes, I floss their teeth better than my own) their teeth equally. So it would seem my poor milk drinking Addy has gotten her daddy's teeth. The only good thing that came out of that visit was Spencer has changed his future career from Super Hero to Dentist.
So this long, so exciting post, is to say how proud I am of my little girl. She went in today and without any gas got her cavity filled! She started to cry when they put the needle in, but once it was over acted like it was no big deal. I think she probably wouldn't have even cried at all if they hadn't had put it in so soon after the numbing gel. Don't dentists normally wait awhile for the numbing to set in before they put in the needle?

P.S. Spencer wants to be a Dentist now!

Random Pictures

Here are some random pictures that don't really fit into a post, but that I like to document for when I print my blog out!

Sunday pictures- May 28, 2011
May 30, 2011
This is not the cutest pictures. I took it because I hadn't taken any good ones of the sitting up. The thing I love about it now is look how little hair she has. Her (Allyson) hair has really grown!
When I was taking pictures of the babies, the kids wanted to be involved too. Here are  our attempts at good getting a good picture.
Love her face-not sure why she looks sad though!
June 5, 2011- Ready for church
Dress-up time with the headbands Aunt Becky made me for my birthday!
June 8, 2011
Addy's first drawing of a person.
Spencer wanted a picture of his drawing too. Looks like a giant fish to me.

Kids being silly.
 Fun pictures of the girls.

Addy's Birthday Party

Addy just had to have a birthday party like her big brother Spencer. She invited 14 kids and all 14 kids came! So counting her and Spencer there were 16 kids there, plus the twins in their highchairs! Now, having thrown two parties, I really think 4 is the perfect age to have their first party- they are just a little more ready for the experience. I tried to see if she wanted to take a few of her really close friends to Kangaroo Zoo or somewhere else fun, but once again she had to have a party like her brother. So we threw her a princess/pirate party! It was originally a princess/knight party, but I couldn't find anything cute and inexpensive for the boys to make (like a sword or something) so we settled on pirates. Here are some pictures of her fun day!

The girls made a crown and the boys a pirate hat when they first arrived.
A view of the room with the decorations.
 Addy's princess cake
Haleigh (top) & Allyson (bottom) waiting for the fun to begin. They look so small!

 Addy before the party
Pirate Spencer & Princess Addy- always likes to be by his sister.
All the girls & boys. I love that out of all the princess dresses-no one had the same.
 Hailey-her tall friend!
MacKenzie wasn't too excited about me taking her picture!
Caleb- wasn't too excited either, but doesn't he look great!
Next door neighbor Lily- who will be 6 this month- she was a little old for the party, but Addy wanted her to come. She kept telling the other kids to sit down and acted annoyed with them.
 Luy!
Kyleigh- a good friend of Spencer's- so of course Addy loves her too!
Jessie-the least excited about the picture! She didn't want to put her dress on!
 Lilliona- mischievous one!
 Danielle- smaller than Addy
Luke& Abi- friends since babies
Megan- youngest friend there, but one of Addy;s good nursery friends.
 Delia
Here they are making their crowns/hats. It took a lot longer than we expected.

Thank goodness to Megan- who didn't want her mom to leave- because Mandy was such a huge help. They had pizza, oranges, grapes and chocolate milk.
Here Addy is blowing out the cake!
We also played pin the crown on Cinderella and went on a princess walk. I had more games to play, pass the slipper, but it just got too crazy and time went by too fast. She got a lot of fun gifts that she was really excited about. I think all in all it was a SUCCESS!
My beautiful girl- who has already grown up so much sine this party- playing with a new barbie.
